Some food for thought in advance…
Research integrity is considered of utmost importance nowadays in the academic community. Eg. did you know that you have to take an oath when defending your thesis at UU? Or that RMA students have to sign a document declaring that they did respect the principles of good academic research? Attention is being paid to plagiarism and misconduct in many classes in the bachelors and (R)MA masters programs. Yet, daily research practice involves all kinds of issues that deserve further reflection and that go way beyond plagiarism or fraud. Depending on your research area you might encounter different issues, or have different insights regarding eg. co-publications or methodologies. In order to raise awareness on these issues… and have some fun, after two short introductions, we will play a dilemma game and exchange our findings in a workshop session.
Dr. Mariëtte van den Hoven (our Humanities expert on Integrity) will lead this workshop and Sven Hermans (policymaker research) will give a short presentation on Data management.
